Obligations:

All members need to acknowledge the following Basic Conditions for a Plan to proceed to Referendum:

1. must adhere to the constitution‎
2. must be appropriate having regard to national policy
3. must contribute to the achievement of sustainable development
4. must be in general conformity with the strategic policies in the development plan for the local area
5. special regard to the desirability of preserving or enhancing the character or appearance of any conservation area (applies to orders)
